Cammus Wheel Disconnection Driver Issue

Originally posted by Peavii on discord, This is a rare case situation which is when other drivers conflict with cammus device drivers and cause disconnection.

So I just wrote this out for someone here and I hope this helps others with any C5/Cammus wheel disconnection/driver issues…

So there is a driver called “USB Serial Device (COM#)” where ‘#’ seems to be ‘3’ by default in the “Ports (COM & LPT) part of Device Manager”. Uninstall it and check the any software option if it shows.

There were also 2 drivers that I had which I believe started with something like ‘DFU’ (the mode the C5 goes into when updating firmware is called this) in the “Universal Serial Bus controllers” section of Device Manager, uninstall them and any software attached to them.

Also although I reinstalled the Cammus program and got my wheel fixed and updated those 2 DFU drivers never came back. They could’ve possibly been lingering Thrustmaster drivers which are known to fight with Cammus products…

I hope this will help others.
