Generally speaking, if the interfaces are the same, they can be directly connected.
The CAMMUS C5 provides a Type-C port.
If your gear box is a USB port, you’ll need to purchase a USB-to-Type-C adapter to connect it to C5.
The same applies to other interfaces.

The software utility will detect the gearbox, and everything can be configured in it, or you will need to install the software of the gearbox manufacturer on the PC, and configure the device in it. Connection to Cammus C5 in this case works as a bypass.
I am asking this question because I have not yet decided which gearbox and from which manufacturer to buy. My choice depends on your answer.

Generally, the C5’s USB Type-C port can be connected to and used with USB devices from other manufacturers.
After connecting, it’s as if the USB device from another manufacturer was connected directly to a computer’s USB port, and will be recognized and used normally in the game.
However, the CAMMUS desktop software only recognizes CAMMUS devices and cannot recognize and configure devices from other manufacturers.
If you need to configure these USB devices from other manufacturers, you will need to use the corresponding manufacturer’s software.
