Does anyone know if the shifters are compatible with other makes? I’m thinking of fitting a quick release wheel hub but would mean the shifter arms are too far away from the wheel. I can buy extensions / mods for other wheels, but can’t find any for the Cammus C12
Interesting idea.
I am still waiting to receive my C12 so I can see what is possible as I please for QR too but I have exact same issue in my mind. the gap between the wheel and paddles plus the gap between the wheel and the buttons, As I use rotary encoders for TCS, ABS and Brake bias.
Even if we fix a mod for paddle distance how do you plan to reduce the buttons distance ?
Note: I already received my 14" wheel rim for truck sim use cases but I fear using the 6 screws method with discourage me from changing the wheel frequently even though I have electronic screw driver.
Hadn’t even thought of the distance to the buttons!!! Doh!!
If you want to attach a quick release in front of the C12, you would need to use a wheel that have buttons and paddles by itself, a friend of mine did it and it works great, but you will need a wheel that has bluetooth or usb connection directly to your PC or to one of the USB-C ports behind the C12.
I am doing a new rim for mine but it wont have a QR, I will fix it flush with the base so I can still use the buttons and paddles.
I’ve looked at the slim QRs but even then, they are 3.3cm deep, which is too much.
what kind of rim ? I have received GTR version and bought 14" rim for truck sim.
That rim looks amazing.
Wow you have quite a good setup. That diy button box and led.
I see you’re using simsonn pedals while I am using SimRuito pedals
Fans for wind sim too. Wow.
Amazing setup.
Thank you. Little secret…the rim is not expensive. I bought it from AliExpress! The fan is just there to keep me cool…it’s on a switch near the wheel so I can turn it on during races. I’ve also got a Simsonn shifter and hand brake. I’m now thinking about triple monitors but may not have the room! It looks a bit messy in this photo. I’ve tidied the cables a bit since then.
I did this actually. using the Kyostar QR
paddles are a bit far away, I can still reach (i have long fingers) but nothing some 3d printed custom paddle shifters can’t fix.
I’m building a custom rim for it, based on the Porsche 992 cup car:
I did the project to work on the C12 so the buttons will not be like the original, but at least it’s a quick change when it is finished
it’s 70% done
I will post the whole project here when i’ts ready, with all the files to 3D print and cut the rim
Thanks for posting some pics… That helps me a lot. I’ve seen some slimline QRs which I might look at… They’re no where near as deep as the Kyostar. I think I read the whole QR is about 2.4 cm
Looking good! That’ll look perfect when you’ve finished building it!
does anyone know how to dissemble the c5 to change my shifter connector
