I’m the 1st place winner of the recent CAMMUS 2025 Update Giveaway. My prize? The CAMMUS C12 Steering Wheel + the CS5 Desktop Clamp.
Before this, I was already a proud owner of the updated 2025 C5, so this post is mostly about a comparison based on real, hands-on experience. Let me walk you through what greeted me when the C12 arrived.
Unboxing
The packaging is exactly what you’d expect from CAMMUS: premium, easy to recognize, and tastefully done. Everything is packed neatly and securely – reliable and no wasted space.
What’s inside?
- The CS5 desk clamp and all its components come in one compact box.
- The C12 wheel itself , along with the cooler, bolts, USB-A – USB-B cable, T-shaped base holders, manual, 120 stickers and power supply.
A small but very welcome detail for me: in my package CAMMUS included double the number of mounting bolts for the CS5. That means spares. If you’re someone who frequently disassembles and reassembles your base (or just likes having fresh bolts on hand), you would appreciate this. It’s the little things.
Power supply
Compared to the C5’s power brick, the C12’s power supply is an absolute beast. You can tell just by looking at it. This wheel operates on a completely different level of torque and force.
That said, let me be clear: the C5 is still the king of its own weight class. For the price, it’s nearly perfect. It covers the needs of most sim racers without breaking the bank. Don’t underestimate it.
️ The rim
The C12 comes with a full round rim, noticeably larger in diameter than the D-shaped rim on the C5. Both have their strengths, but the round rim feels more versatile for different racing styles.
One detail that genuinely impressed me – and it’s something many manufacturers overlook – there’s no seam on the main grip area. The leather wraps around seamlessly where your fingers naturally rest. No awkward stitching digging into your fingers. CAMMUS actually thought about this.
Button functionality
The sheer functionality of the buttons surprised me. We’re talking about tons of binding options to suit your personal preferences. Buttons can be pressed, rotated along their axis, used as a joystick or configured as a 12-position switch.
This level of design shows that CAMMUS is thinking about maximum user flexibility. They want you to unlock the wheel’s full potential.
Design
Back during the giveaway contest, I already mentioned that CAMMUS nailed its 2025 design identity – green accents, cleaner aesthetics. Now that I have the C12 in hand, I can confirm: it works beautifully. The community clearly supports this direction, and I’m happy to add my voice to that.
Transition from C5 to C12
So, what’s the real-world difference? Want brutal force? Crank it up. The C12 can shake and resist as much as you like. Want something in the middle? A balanced, strong-but-not-overpowering feel? Easy. Just want to relax and enjoy a casual sim session without arm wrestling the wheel? No problem at all.
The C12 is about ultimate versatility. It combines everything you could ask for into one beautifully crafted device.

I clearly see, guys, your unique approach to community engagement. You’re on the same wavelength as your users. You actively solve problems – and let’s be real, issues and mistakes are inevitable when manufacturing complex hardware. But what sets you apart is your willingness to learn, improve, and grow.
Most importantly, you listen. You implement user feedback. You make your supporters feel heard.
That’s rare. And it matters.
Keep competing with other manufacturers, but also find common ground. Keep innovating. Keep delighting your community with new products. Expand the fanbase and never forget that your loyal fans trust you.
